Why Orleans Families Choose Trillium Dental
Choosing a dentist is about more than choosing a clinic. It means choosing a team you'll rely on for years. At Trillium Dental Orleans, routine cleanings, cosmetic work, gum surgery, and implants all happen under one roof, with the same people who already know your dental history.
Many of our patients find us through a neighbour, a colleague or a relative who has been coming for years. We treat that trust as something we earn at every appointment, whether you live around the corner or drive in from Cumberland, Navan or Blackburn Hamlet.
In-House Periodontist, Implants and Gum Surgery
Most general clinics refer gum surgery and implant placement to a specialist elsewhere. At our Orleans dental clinic, Dr. Freddy Fokam provides periodontal treatment and implant surgery right here on Mer Bleue Road. You don't need a separate referral, and your complex care stays with the team that knows your file.
Same-Day Family Appointments
We book families back-to-back, so kids, parents, and grandparents can all be seen on the same afternoon. That means one trip instead of several across the week.
Dental Care in English or Spanish
Dr. Yamisleidis Aguilar sees patients in both English and Spanish. If you'd rather talk about your diagnosis and treatment plan in Spanish, just let us know when you book.
We Explain Before We Recommend
We show you what we see on your X-rays and in your mouth, explain your options clearly, and answer your questions before you make any treatment decision.
Coverage Confirmed Before You Arrive
We confirm your dental insurance or CDCP coverage before your appointment, so you know what to expect before treatment starts.

Bleeding Gums Aren't Normal: Advice from Our Orleans Periodontist
The most common gum disease pattern Dr. Fokam sees in Orleans is a slow one. It develops over years, often without pain, so patients don't realize anything is wrong. Early warning signs include:
- Gums that bleed when you brush or floss
- Swollen, tender, or sensitive gums
- Bad breath that doesn't go away
Many people only come in once they notice bigger changes: gum recession, loose or shifting teeth, or a bite that feels different. By then, the disease is often more advanced.
"I always tell patients that bleeding gums shouldn't simply be considered normal. It can be an early warning sign, and the sooner we identify the problem, the more options we have to manage it effectively." (Dr. Freddy Fokam, Periodontist)
The good news is that gum disease is often manageable when it's caught early. Regular checkups, good home care, and professional monitoring make a real difference. If your gums bleed regularly, book a gum health check.
Meet Our Orleans Dentists
Dr. Yamisleidis Aguilar
General Dentist
Dr. Aguilar has been practising dentistry since 1995. She began her career in Havana before immigrating to Canada and earned her Canadian dental licence through the NDEB in 2018. At our Orleans clinic, she provides general, restorative, and cosmetic care for patients of all ages, and she sees patients in English and Spanish.
Patients notice her approach first: she listens, explains what she's seeing before recommending anything, and never rushes. She treats many families across generations and makes a point of keeping children's visits relaxed.
"When a child leaves the office feeling proud rather than nervous, that's a wonderful feeling." (Dr. Yamisleidis Aguilar)
Dr. Freddy Fokam
DDS, MSc (Perio), FRCD(C), Periodontist
Dr. Fokam earned his DDS from the University of Lille in France and a Master's degree in Periodontics from Dalhousie University, where his three-year residency focused on dental implants and periodontal microsurgery. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
Before specializing, he completed a two-year hospital internship in oral surgery and spent five years in general dentistry in Quebec. At our Orleans location, he provides periodontal treatment and implant surgery. He takes the time to make sure patients understand their options and feel comfortable at every step.
Nervous About the Dentist? You're Not Alone
Some patients come to us after a difficult experience elsewhere, unsure they'll ever feel at ease in a dental chair again. Others have put off a small problem because they worried it would mean expensive or extensive work. Unfortunately, waiting often lets a small cavity grow into something that needs more involved treatment.
Tell us how you're feeling when you book. We'll slow things down, explain each step before we do it, and make sure you feel in control. Sedation is available when appropriate. We've seen anxious patients who had been avoiding dental care leave excited about looking after their smile.
Dental Insurance, CDCP and Payment Options
Costs are always explained before treatment begins.
- Dental insurance: We submit your claim electronically. Most patients are reimbursed within three to five business days, often by direct deposit.
- Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP): Our Orleans dentists accept the CDCP. Mention your coverage when you book, and we'll confirm what's included before your visit.
- Payment: We're a fee-for-service practice accepting Visa, Mastercard, American Express, debit, and cash. Your treatment plan is based on what's best for your oral health, not on what a plan will reimburse.
